About the position

As a Technical Writer at Jacobs, you will play a crucial role in shaping the Cyber, Security, & Intel space. This position involves supporting mission-critical projects that directly impact the nation's security and intelligence missions. You will be part of a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about their work and committed to excellence. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing, editing, and ensuring the quality of various project-related documents. You will be tasked with performing technical editing on reports and user guides, as well as developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Your ability to consolidate technical inputs and analyses will be essential in producing clear and logical documents that are easily understandable by non-technical audiences. Additionally, you will interpret complex engineering and security information, operational procedures, and synthesize large quantities of cyber-related information into coherent documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project and/or task-related document preparation, editing, and quality assurance.
  • Perform technical editing of technical reports and tool-related user guides; develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Consolidate technical inputs and analyses and produce a logical, understandable document related to information assurance (IA).
  • Interpret engineering and security information, operational procedures, and absorb and combine large quantities of cyber-related information.

Requirements

  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience writing original content, editing, and extensive proof-reading of technical documents, manuals, standard operating procedures, and user guides for non-technical audiences.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical IT field may be substituted for four (4) years of experience for a total of four (4) years of experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in the past five (5) years with desktop publishing.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in a team environment.
  • Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance required.
