About the position

The Technical Writer position involves developing and managing technical documentation in alignment with IRS objectives. The role requires a strong understanding of technical writing principles, Agile methodologies, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly. The writer will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure documentation meets standards and is completed on time.

Responsibilities

• Develop content to align with objectives based on IRS guidelines.
• Plan and conduct the artifact review process, ensuring stakeholder feedback is addressed.
• Coordinate and conduct the artifact signature process, ensuring timely distribution and receipt of signatures.
• Communicate issues and risks impacting the completion of artifacts to the PPR manager.
• Provide recommendations for improving the documentation process.
• Participate in meetings and briefings directed by IRS Delivery, providing status updates and presenting impediments.
• Maintain all artifacts in designated SharePoint folders and other repositories defined by the IRS.
• Identify stories that require documentation updates.
• Summarize technical meetings and document technical documents, white papers, charts, reports, and manuals.
• Analyze systems and processes to provide solutions for improving internal processes.
• Understand technical details to develop communication material and consolidate content into target templates.
• Coordinate the display of graphics and the production of documents.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience in professional writing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products and management tools.
• Deep understanding of the EA and ELC Agile process.
• Sound IT technical knowledge and understanding of IRS EA enterprise standards, policies, and procedures.
• Strong analytical skills to understand systems and processes.

• Experience in consuming raw technical details from various SMEs.
• Experience in coordinating the display of graphics in documentation.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and other software development methodologies.
