About the position

The Junior Technical Writer position at Cherokee Nation Defense Solutions (CNDS) is a critical role that requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance. The primary responsibility of the Junior Technical Writer is to review, analyze, and draft technical documents that meet the requirements of end-users. This includes organizing and writing supporting documentation for various products and services. The role demands a strong understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) procurement regulations, as compliance with these regulations is essential in the documentation process. In this position, the Junior Technical Writer will transform end-user requirements into appropriate documents such as Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), and Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DODAF) documents. The ability to study services or products and translate their requirements into clear and concise written documentation is crucial. Additionally, the Junior Technical Writer will be expected to perform other job-related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team and the organization. Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and draft technical documents.
  • Transform end-user requirements into appropriate documents (SOW, PWS, DODAF, etc.).
  • Study services or products and translate requirements into written documentation.
  • Organize and write supporting documents for products and services.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR and DFARS procurement regulations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • DAWIA Level II contracting credential.
  • At least three (3) years of experience within the past five (5) years in reviewing, analyzing, and drafting technical documents.
  • Experience with determining the needs of end-users and translating their requirements into documentation.
  • Knowledge of FAR and DFARS procurement regulations.
  • Ability to organize and write supporting documents for products and services.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
