About the position

Koniag Technology Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Technical Writer with a Top-Secret Clearance to support KTS and our government customer in Washington, DC. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity. The Technical Writer will act as the primary contact between our office and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, well organized, design-oriented, and customer-focused, with essential multi-discipline team representation. In this role, the Technical Writer will be responsible for developing and maintaining technical documentation for system tradecraft methodologies. This includes creating operations documentation, user guides, technical publications, briefings, reports, and training materials. The Technical Writer will interpret engineering and maintenance drawings, as well as operational procedures, to understand and blend large quantities of system-related information. They will work on all phases of technical documentation to ensure that products are accurate, complete, consistent, and meet editorial and government specifications. This includes ensuring that documents contain appropriate security classification markings and adhere to standards for quality, graphics, format, and style. The Technical Writer will coordinate with technical personnel and subject matter experts to document key elements of operational functionality, including overviews, processes/workflows, and requirements. They will also review and edit documents for grammar, format, and clarity prior to program management approval, as well as review and edit procedures related to standard IT workflows. Additionally, the Technical Writer will aid in the development of accreditation documentation if required, maintain and suggest improvements to the current internal documentation library, and maintain the program's document tracking spreadsheet on the status of contract deliverables.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Top Secret Security Clearance
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint
  • Ability to work predominately on the customer site during a 40-hour work week.
