Technical Writer

About the position

Klett Consulting Group (KCG) is a government contracting firm specializing in program support across multiple support areas for both military and civilian agencies. Responsibilities

• Researches, writes, edits, and proofreads technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures, and specifications
• Creates operation and maintenance technical manuals for the delivered EDM Systems and equipment
• Ensures technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications, and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style
• Assists in establishing style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations and suggests revisions to the guidelines and standards
• Maintains the style guide
• Maintains documentation in content or document management systems
• Provides input to or update schedules to track document delivery milestones
• Writes, edits, or reviews proposals and/or marketing materials

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Three (3) years of experience writing one or more of the following using standard military practices: Operational Documentation, Maintenance Documentation, Installation Data Documentation
• Possess a current Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
