About the position

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team. This role involves creating, updating, and managing technical documentation to support our products, processes, and customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technical concepts, excellent writing skills, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, user-friendly materials.

Responsibilities

• Create user manuals, service guides, assembly instructions, and training materials for refuse truck systems and components.
• Ensure documents are accurate, well-structured, and tailored to the target audience (e.g., operators, maintenance personnel, engineers).
• Work closely with engineers, product managers, and manufacturing staff to gather technical information.
• Review technical specifications, CAD drawings, and schematics to ensure documentation aligns with product designs.
• Develop templates, style guides, and standardized formats for documentation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with graphic designers or use design tools to integrate diagrams, charts, and other visuals into documents.
• Take photos or create illustrations for step-by-step guides.
• Maintain version control of all documents and update materials based on design changes, feedback, or new product releases.
• Manage digital and physical repositories for technical documentation.
• Assist in the creation of training content and presentations for internal teams and customers.
• Participate in product launch activities to ensure the availability of user-friendly technical resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in manufacturing, automotive, or heavy equipment industries.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Ability to interpret technical concepts and communicate them clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, MS Office, FrameMaker) and familiarity with CAD software or 3D modeling tools is a plus.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.

Benefits

• Pay range: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00/yr
• Health plan with a deductible of $750 person/$1,500 family per calendar year
• Out-of-pocket limit of $2,500 person/$5,000 family per calendar year
