At Rockwood Company, LLC, we are seeking a dedicated Technical Writer to join our team in Washington, DC. This role is pivotal in supporting our mission to empower a more innovative and effective government. As a Technical Writer, you will engage in various client projects, honing your skills and gaining experience that will prepare you for roles of increasing responsibility within the firm. You will serve as the primary content, technical, and style editor for all correspondence, policies, talking points, and written products produced by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (OUSD). Your work will involve collaborating with senior leaders, colleagues, and subject matter experts (SMEs) across various OUSD offices to ensure that leadership messaging is effectively incorporated into all written materials. In this position, you will interface directly with senior clients to help develop a consistent voice in correspondence and talking points. You will work closely with the office's Correspondence Manager to ensure that all written products are completed on time and adhere to standard operating procedures. As the final content and style editor, you will review all written products before they are approved by the Director and Deputy Director. Additionally, you will support client engagements and manage project lanes to completion, develop presentations and client deliverables, and contribute to proposal development. Building strong relationships with clients will be essential as you work face-to-face to dissect and solve problems, all while developing a firm understanding of Rockwood's methodologies and service offerings to provide timely advice and solutions. This role requires an active TS-SCI clearance, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and at least six years of relevant work experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight timelines, and proficiency in developing written documents and briefing materials. Familiarity with DoD writing style and executive correspondence is also essential.
