About the position

The Technical Writer at Old Republic Title will play a crucial role in the creation and organization of various documentation types, including user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, web help, digital content, and reports. This position requires a keen ability to analyze and interpret specialized technical information to produce detailed documentation and technical manuals that meet the company's branding requirements and templates. The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather necessary information and ensure the accuracy and consistency of the documentation produced. In addition to writing, the Technical Writer will assist in the review and development of e-learning materials for both internal and external users, utilizing software such as StoryLine or Articulate Studio. The role also involves planning the documentation development process and coordinating writing projects, which requires strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively. This hybrid-office position mandates in-office attendance two days a week at the Plano, TX office, and regular attendance at company events may also be required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities to foster collaborative working relationships. The Technical Writer must be personable, positive, and a professional representative of the company, capable of interacting effectively with all levels of management, employees, and customers. Regular consistent attendance is essential, and the ability to accept supervision is necessary for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and organize information for the creation of user manuals and training materials.
  • Develop and produce accurate written documentation based on company software.
  • Work collaboratively with SMEs to gather required information for documentation.
  • Review documentation for validity, accuracy, completeness, and consistency with company standards.
  • Assist with the review and development of e-learning materials using software such as StoryLine or Articulate Studio.
  • Plan the documentation development process and coordinate writing projects.
  • Use and navigate web help software such as Adobe RoboHelp.
  • Foster and maintain professional working relationships with peers, supervisors, and customers.
