The Technical Writer II's role at Lumen is pivotal in ensuring that documentation resulting from Custom Networks process improvement activities is accurately written, structured, and updated. This position requires close collaboration with Custom Networks operational teams, particularly those involved in process and system resources, to create, maintain, update, and edit essential documentation. The Technical Writer will be responsible for obtaining documentation or diagrams from various sources and converting them into professional artifacts that can be utilized by Enterprise Operations employees. In addition to creating new documentation, the Technical Writer will organize and maintain a document repository, ensuring that outdated versions are updated and obsolete documents are retired. A critical aspect of this role involves analyzing existing documentation and diagrams across the repository to maintain a consistent and streamlined style, regardless of the original author. The Technical Writer will also maintain a comprehensive electronic library of terminology and documentation, which is essential for ensuring clarity and consistency in communication across the organization. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Technical Writer will work with others to explore opportunities for enhancing or expanding the capabilities of the document repository. Providing proofreading and template support to teammates is also part of the job, as is keeping stakeholders and impacted teams informed about planned changes to the repository and associated timelines. Additionally, the Technical Writer will be responsible for gathering and reporting metrics related to repository management progress, ensuring that the documentation process is efficient and effective.
