About the position

ASRC Federal Netcentric Technologies, LLC is seeking a Technical Writer to support a USAF contract at Hill AFB, Utah. The Technical Writer will play a crucial role in overseeing the collection and organization of information, as well as the preparation, editing, and revision of various documents required for program execution. This includes creating Technical Orders and user manuals. The position requires collaboration with multiple technical professions, including software developers, system engineers, and test engineers, to capture data necessary for generating technical documentation. The Technical Writer will work closely with counterparts to author, edit, and proofread technical documents such as Strategy Documents, Technical Design Packages, Implementation Plans, and other essential technical documentation. Additionally, the Technical Writer will gather requirements from users and stakeholders to prepare user and program documentation, taking primary responsibility for authorship while collaborating with team members on document development. The role involves managing multiple documentation assignments simultaneously, ensuring that all materials meet the required standards and deadlines. The work schedule is flexible, with facilities generally open from 6 am to 6 pm. Employees can coordinate with customer leadership to set their hours and have the option to work a standard 5-day week or a 5/4/9 schedule, also known as a 9/80 schedule. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the collection and organization of information for technical documentation.
  • Prepare, edit, and revise documents required for program execution, including Technical Orders and user manuals.
  • Collaborate with software developers, system engineers, and test engineers to capture data for documentation.
  • Author, edit, and proof technical documents such as Strategy Documents and Implementation Plans.
  • Gather requirements from users and stakeholders to prepare user and program documentation.
  • Manage multiple documentation assignments simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience drafting, formatting, and editing technical publications and proposals using MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and CorelDraw.
  • Ability to multi-task and take notes during meetings.
  • Experience working with system engineers and software engineers to translate technical information into clear documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Independent thinker capable of performing high-quality work both independently and in a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with the Air Force Technical Order System.
  • Knowledge of the A-10 Aircraft and system operation.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
