About The Position

The Service Technician II at NovaSource Power is responsible for managing and completing service-related work on residential and commercial solar systems. This role requires a strong foundation in electrical installation and solar electrical systems, along with excellent customer service skills. The technician will work independently and occasionally with a field manager, performing preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The position may involve travel and emergency responses to system failures, requiring flexibility in working hours.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of Residential Solar O&M experience required.
  • 3+ years of Residential Solar Installation experience required.
  • 3+ years of previous field construction experience required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Residential Solar Commissioning or Installation.
  • Knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standards is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to operate office equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • NABCEP Certification.
  • Prior Residential and/or Commercial Solar O&M experience.
  • Experience maintaining and servicing solar monitoring systems.
  • Experience maintaining and servicing solar inverters/micro-inverters.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, service, and repair residential and commercial solar systems and associated equipment to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Interact with customers and coworkers at a professional level, able to work both independently and as part of a multi-tasking team.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance including physical and visual inspections.
  • Perform Corrective Maintenance on both residential and commercial solar systems.
  • Perform remote on-site customer services, including installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing of solar systems and related equipment.
  • Conduct full system commissioning with no guidance.
  • Operate a multimeter and SunEye to diagnose solar issues.
  • Perform meter swaps/replacements and Suneye tests on solar systems.
  • Conduct full underperformance investigations and system deactivations/reactivations.
  • Complete standard reporting including uploading pictures and compiling written reports.
  • Keep warehouse/storage units clean and organized, and manage inventory and material counts.
  • Transport materials to job sites and ensure the company vehicle is stocked with necessary materials.
