About the position

The position involves providing support to the MRI department at Thompson Health, focusing on enhancing team collaboration, improving processes, and ensuring efficient operations. The role requires effective communication, time management, and the ability to maintain a friendly, service-oriented approach while managing various responsibilities related to patient care and MRI testing.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit team building skills and promote department efficiencies.
• Demonstrate effective communication and prioritize assignments.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with system departments and healthcare professionals.
• Manage time effectively and multi-task to maintain department efficiency.
• Satisfy customer needs in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Assist MRI technologists with patient transport and transfer.
• Prepare scanning rooms between patients by cleaning equipment and changing linens.
• Provide clerical support including telephone response and verifying patient information.
• Obtain prior testing information as needed to support MRI procedures.
• Perform diverse tasks to maintain an organized department.

Requirements

• Prior patient care experience in a hospital or nursing home environment is required.
• Associate degree and/or certification in a related field, or three years of experience in a related patient care setting is required.
• 2 to 3 years of previous healthcare experience is required.
• Prior Medical Imaging department experience is preferred.
• Computer knowledge and skills, including McKesson Paragon applications and online digital imaging (PACS), are preferred.
