About the position

PRN Healthcare is seeking a travel Cath Lab Technologist for a travel job in Chicago, Illinois. This position involves working 8-hour shifts during the day, providing essential support in the catheterization laboratory. As a Cath Lab Technologist, you will be responsible for assisting physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures, ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly, and maintaining a sterile environment. You will also be required to monitor patients' vital signs and provide care before, during, and after procedures. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality patient care and requires a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology, as well as proficiency in operating specialized medical equipment. Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and maintain a sterile environment.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs before, during, and after procedures.
  • Provide care and support to patients undergoing catheterization procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Cath Lab Technologist or equivalent.
  • Experience in a catheterization laboratory setting.
  • Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
  • Proficiency in operating specialized medical equipment used in catheterization procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous travel experience as a Cath Lab Technologist.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
