About the position

RTG Medical-Allied is seeking a skilled and dedicated Cath Lab Technologist for a travel position in Brownsville, Texas. This role is designed for an Allied Health Professional who specializes in catheterization procedures and is looking for an opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The position is set to start on August 26, 2024, and will last for a duration of 13 weeks. The Cath Lab Technologist will be expected to work 36 hours per week, with shifts scheduled for 12 hours during the day. This travel job offers a unique chance to gain experience in different healthcare settings while providing essential services to patients in need of cardiac care. As a Cath Lab Technologist, you will play a crucial role in assisting physicians during catheterization procedures, ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly, and maintaining a sterile environment. You will be responsible for preparing patients for procedures, monitoring their vital signs, and providing support throughout the process. This position requires a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology, as well as proficiency in operating imaging equipment and other medical devices used in the cath lab. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during catheterization procedures
  • Prepare patients for procedures and explain the process
  • Monitor patients' vital signs during procedures
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and maintain a sterile environment
  • Document patient information and procedure details accurately
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
  • Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Cath Lab Technologist
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cath Lab setting
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology
  • Proficiency in operating imaging equipment and medical devices used in the cath lab
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced imaging techniques
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Additional certifications in related specialties
