About the position
The Telemetry Nurse is responsible for providing primary care to patients who have been released from intensive care but still require close monitoring. This role involves utilizing advanced medical equipment to monitor vital signs and collaborating with physicians to develop treatment plans for patients recovering from heart conditions or cardiac surgery.
Responsibilities
- Carry out patient assignments and assume primary care responsibilities.
- Monitor vital signs of patients using sophisticated medical equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans for patients in the telemetry unit.
- Take quick action to treat patients who develop problems based on monitored data.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Experience in telemetry nursing or critical care nursing preferred.
- Strong understanding of cardiac monitoring and treatment.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in Telemetry Nursing (e.g., CNPT) is a plus.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
