The Teller position at Consumer Credit Union in Morristown, TN, is a full-time role that serves as a vital link between the credit union and its members. Tellers are responsible for opening new accounts, resolving issues, and ensuring that members receive accurate and timely information about their accounts and transactions. This role may require floating between the Morristown and Jefferson City branches, necessitating flexibility and adaptability in service delivery. As a Teller, you will greet and welcome members and visitors in a professional manner, ensuring a positive first impression of the credit union. You will be tasked with processing transactions efficiently and accurately, whether in person or over the phone. This includes handling requests for account transfers, withdrawals, and loan payments, as well as providing information on investment alternatives for members looking to deposit funds. Additionally, you will assist members in completing necessary forms for payroll deductions and direct deposits, and help them open individual retirement accounts. The role also involves promoting credit union products and services based on the specific needs of members, ensuring that they are aware of the full range of offerings available to them. You will be expected to respond to member inquiries and complaints promptly, directing them to the appropriate personnel when necessary. Overall, the Teller position is crucial in maintaining member satisfaction and fostering a positive relationship between the credit union and its members.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome members and visitors to the credit union in a professional manner.
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
  • Provide in-person and by-telephone general and specific service-related information concerning credit union services or policies.
  • Respond to email or other electronic requests submitted by members, providing professional service and information.
  • Address members' requests, problems, and complaints, directing them to the appropriate person for specific information and assistance.
  • Open new accounts and service existing accounts, setting up new account files and providing necessary membership information.
  • Handle requests from members for transfers of shares to loan payments, share withdrawals, check requests, CD transactions, and line of credit advances.
  • Promote credit union products and services based on members' needs.
  • Process member mail transactions, mailing receipts and checks as indicated by policy and procedure.
  • Provide information on investment alternatives to members wishing to deposit funds with the credit union.
  • Research accounts for deposit, withdrawal, and loan-payment discrepancies.
  • Assist members in balancing their accounts and completing payroll deduction and direct deposit cards.
  • Assist members in opening individual retirement accounts.
  • Fill in at other branches as requested and perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
  • 1 year of cash handling experience (Preferred)
  • 1 year of banking experience (Preferred)
  • 1 year of customer service experience (Preferred)
