About the position

The Manager of Production (Temporary, Parental Leave Coverage) will be responsible for managing key aspects of the production and vendor relationship process during the assigned coverage period. This role ensures the timely and accurate fulfillment of purchase orders, order reconciliation, and production milestones. Responsibilities include direct communication with suppliers, overseeing compliance with certifications, tracking fabric and trim inventory, and mitigating any risks related to delivery delays. The individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams-including planning, merchandising, and logistics-to maintain a smooth production flow and adherence to the Go-To-Market calendar. This position reports to the Director of Production & Sourcing and is expected to support the team throughout the duration of the maternity leave coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Issue purchase orders in alignment with the company's allocation strategy.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely issuance of all purchase orders in line with production schedules.
  • Manage the order reconciliation process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy.
  • Track, report, and resolve discrepancies or delays, ensuring production timelines are maintained.
  • Maintain direct communication with finished goods suppliers on all production-related touchpoints.
  • Manage timelines for key production milestones, including trim/bulk fabric ready dates, color approvals, and PPS/TOP samples.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (planning, merchandising, logistics) to mitigate risks associated with delivery delays.
  • Develop contingency plans to ensure timely deliveries when delays occur.
  • Ensure all production processes meet necessary compliance certifications, including Fair Trade USA, GOTS, and Oeko-Tex.
  • Track and reconcile positioned fabric and trims on a monthly basis to ensure inventory levels and forecasts are accurate.
  • Monitor the Go-To-Market calendar to ensure all production milestones are met on time, ensuring a timely market launch.
  • Collaborate with inspection partners to ensure products meet company quality standards.
  • Address and collaborate cross functionally any quality-related concerns, ensuring production processes adhere to specifications.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years' experience in direct vendor management, managing apparel or home textiles.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Large bandwidth and entrepreneurial spirit necessary.
  • Proficient in Google Suite and Excel, with a strong understanding of pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
  • Experience with NetSuite and Centric PLM is a plus.

Benefits
