About the position
Anticipated TEMPORARY SUBSTITUTE ELEMENTARY AIS MATH TEACHER (This position may turn into a Leave Replacement Position) On or around December 3, 2024 through approximately January 13, 2025 NYS CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR: Childhood Education (Grades 1-6). Compensation at Daily Substitute Rate of Pay unless it becomes a Leave Replacement Position wherein the compensation will be in accordance with the Valley Stream Teachers' Association Agreement.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in elementary AIS math.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Communicate with parents and staff regarding student performance.
Requirements
- NYS Certification in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6).
- Experience in teaching elementary math is preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with AIS (Academic Intervention Services) programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
