The Department of Biology and Biomedical Engineering (BBE) at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is seeking candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in Biomedical Engineering, set to commence in August 2025. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in an engineering discipline, preferably biomedical, by the time of appointment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, utilizing evidence-based approaches to instruct both introductory biomedical engineering courses and upper-level electives in their area of expertise. Experience or enthusiasm for teaching in the capstone design sequence is highly valued, and while all biomedical engineering-related fields are encouraged to apply, specialization in biomechanics or data mining and data science is preferred. The biomedical engineering program at Rose-Hulman is recognized as one of the top undergraduate-centered programs in the nation. The department is dedicated to innovative pedagogy and curriculum design, aiming to equip undergraduate and Master's-level students with practical skills essential for success in research and industry careers. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on, contextual learning, featuring multiple design experiences culminating in an extended, iterative capstone project. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of 15 faculty members responsible for delivering undergraduate programs in Biology and Biomedical Engineering.
