About the position

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding profit margins within a designated territory for ventilation and metal products. This role involves acting as the sole sales representative, building long-term relationships with distributors and end users, and collaborating with the inside sales team to ensure customer satisfaction. The position offers opportunities for career development and requires a proactive approach to sales and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Become knowledgeable on product lines to provide recommendations and technical advice to customers.
  • Grow established accounts while conducting new business development activities.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with branch and district managers at top distributors, contractors, and builders.
  • Work with customers to understand their needs and utilize feedback to improve service and product offerings.
  • Analyze and interpret sales trend data, selling prices, anticipated revenues, and market potential.
  • Attend and participate in sales activities including site visits, trade seminars, and product demonstrations.
  • Follow up with customers, prospects, and leads to maximize growth opportunities.
  • Develop clear and effective sales proposals for new and existing customers.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and challenges.
  • Provide management with reports on customer needs, competitive activities, and potential for new products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales, Communication or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-oriented approach.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient problem-solving and multitasking skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and passion for sales.
  • Ability to promote teamwork among peers.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP system.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales within the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with ventilation and metal products.
