About the position

As a member of the NS IPT SHARKCAGE Engineering Team, the Test Automation Engineer will primarily provide engineering analysis, testing and evaluation support, and verifying DCO capabilities in support of SHARKCAGE Build 2. Responsibilities include installing, configuring and maintaining SHARKCAGE lab components related to automation, configuring automation scripts and playbooks to automate installation and administration tasks, as well as test events and gathering test data. The role also involves assisting with site support as needed for deployed SHARKCAGE systems with respect to automation capabilities and assisting with site installations as needed for new SHARKCAGE deployments or upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering analysis, testing and evaluation support for SHARKCAGE Build 2.
  • Install, configure and maintain SHARKCAGE lab components related to automation.
  • Configure automation scripts and playbooks to automate installation and administration tasks.
  • Gather test data and assist with site support for deployed SHARKCAGE systems.
  • Assist with site installations for new SHARKCAGE deployments or upgrades.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in relevant technical field.
  • Knowledge and deployment of CI/CD pipeline and workflow automation testing, preferably with GITLAB.
  • Familiarity with Ansible automation capabilities and playbook creation.
  • DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II certifications required: CSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated experience with integrating CI/CD pipeline and workflow automation within GITLAB or an equivalent tool.
  • Experience with writing Ansible playbooks for automating test workflows.
  • Broad and in-depth experience with cybersecurity engineering and general systems engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with technical writing for system documentation, testing methodologies, requirements analysis and test reports.
  • Experience utilizing DISA STIGs to harden and secure Linux systems.
  • Knowledge of the RMF process and supporting deliverables is a plus.
  • Design, testing and validation experience on DoD-deployed systems.
  • Solid understanding of current operating system security design best practices.
  • A Linux (RHCSA or Linux+) or equivalent CI/CD tool certification is highly encouraged.
