At AMD, we care deeply about transforming lives with our technology to enrich our industry, our communities, and the world. Our mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences - the building blocks for the data center, artificial intelligence, PCs, gaming, and embedded systems. The Test Engineering team is responsible for enabling the availability of microprocessors to our customers, focusing on cost, quality, and time-to-market. Pre-silicon responsibilities include understanding product features, developing characterization test plans, identifying test coverage gaps, and creating the necessary software and hardware infrastructure to execute those plans. This role requires collaboration with Design and Platform Engineering, providing opportunities to give feedback for future designs. Post-silicon responsibilities involve microprocessor debug and analysis, executing characterization plans, and addressing silicon performance issues, yield issues, manufacturing processes, and device marginalities. The Test Engineer will work closely with Design and Platform Engineering to root cause issues arising from debug, characterization, and margin analysis, while also providing datasheet specifications and driving yield improvements.
