Write the next chapter of your ABB story. This position reports to the Production Engineering Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the creation of preventative maintenance and calibration plans, troubleshooting existing test equipment and the development of new and improved testing equipment. You will also be responsible for internal testing of electrical distribution products. Testing will be focused on instrumentation transformers, cut-out fuses and switches and testing will be for both low voltage and medium voltage products. The work model for the role is: onsite (#Li-Onsite) This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions division in Pinetops, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily test equipment uptime, track availability, and manage spare parts.
  • Develop and complete preventive maintenance (PM), perform effective reactive maintenance, and calibrate/verify equipment.
  • Create test procedure documentation and ensure compliance with relevant IEEE and IEC standards (IEEE C37.20.1, C37.60 and C37.61, C37.09, IEC 62271-100 and IEC 62271-111 standards as well as ISO 17025).
  • Focus on quality improvement and cycle time reduction.
  • Manage yearly CAPEX planning, help replace equipment/develop equipment back up scenarios and automate testing procedures.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in electrical engineering with 2 years of relevant experience preferred or 2-year degree with 6 years relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to achieve cooperation and reach agreement with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Experienced in planning and executing projects.
  • Experience in dealing with the cultural diversity of a global business environment.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
