About The Position

The Test Engineering Lab Supervisor is responsible for overseeing plant equipment and processes in the manufacturing of chemicals and products. This role involves managing a team of chemical engineers and supporting various engineering projects, including design, process, product, and quality validations. The supervisor will also handle project management tasks, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the engineering department.

Requirements

• B.S. in Engineering or related field (chemical or mechanical)
• 5+ years of experience in product testing and test lab operations
• Project management experience
• Experience in product development
• Strong communication skills for effective problem escalation
• Ability to inspire and share passion for the company's vision
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and operational intelligence
• Data-driven with strong documentation skills
• Collaborative mindset with partnership-building skills
• Proficiency in PLC Logic(s), MatLab, Python, R, and Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

• Self-starter capable of managing multiple projects
• Understanding of data acquisition (DAQ) technology
• Ability to code in MatLab or equivalent for complex data analysis
• Experience in a test lab environment
• Knowledge of water chemistry and treatment
• Understanding of DFMEA/PFMEA, DVPR/PCP, and R&R statistics

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct Associate Test Engineers
• Oversee test request/report system management
• Track and support Design Validation Plans (DVPRs)
• Track and support Process Control & Improvement Plans (PCIPs)
• Manage quality request/report systems
• Schedule and track calibration for lab equipment
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Update, develop, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Conduct data management and analysis
• Report results in concise written forms
• Act as a subject matter expert across multiple engineering platforms
• Ensure high-level communication with stakeholders
• Engage in critical, independent thinking around product requirements and validation
