About the position

The Adult Therapist at Walden Behavioral Care is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of the Program Director. This per diem position focuses on delivering clinical social work and case management for individuals with eating disorders, primarily within the adult population, while also offering some coverage for adolescent programs. The role requires evening availability and involves conducting individual, group, and family therapy, as well as crisis intervention and collaboration with the treatment team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical social work and case management consistent with Walden Behavioral Care's philosophy and NASW objectives.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and participate in treatment planning, utilization review, and discharge planning for an average of 8 patients.
  • Manage cases in both the partial hospital and intensive outpatient programs for eating disorders.
  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
  • Provide crisis intervention and liaison services with referral sources.
  • Ensure timely and professional completion of all required documentation.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team and Walden continuum.
  • Provide clinical supervision to unlicensed staff as needed.

Requirements

  • PhD, PsyD, or Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience providing direct clinical care in a mental health setting, preferably in an eating disorders program.
  • Independent License preferred; licensure required in MA and preferred in CT.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships, age-specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior management, and crisis management.
