As a Therapist at Zinnia Health, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive therapeutic services to individuals struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans, facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, and support clients in their journey toward recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of clients to determine the severity of substance abuse and any co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on client assessments, including short-term and long-term goals.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
  • Address and manage crises, including substance withdrawal symptoms, relapse prevention, and emotional distress.
  • Educate clients and their families about substance abuse, recovery processes, and coping strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
  • Engage in community outreach and educational activities to promote awareness of substance abuse issues.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in substance abuse treatment.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state licensure: LSW, LCSW, LAC, LCADC, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing therapy in a substance abuse treatment setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Commitment to ethical practices and continuous improvement in clinical skills.
