About the position

The Thermal TPM position at Maxonic, Inc. is a full-time role focused on managing technical programs related to thermal systems and components, such as vapor chambers and heat pipes. The role involves building strong customer relationships, providing dedicated customer service, and collaborating closely with engineering and management teams, particularly in China. The successful candidate will act as a technical interface for customers, ensuring effective communication and support throughout the product development process.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical interface for the customer team in Cupertino, presenting technical documents and discussing design solutions.
  • Identify and communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including factory engineering/manufacturing teams and customers, to share priorities and goals.
  • Highlight and drive priorities that are not always fully defined.
  • Coordinate and support customer visits to the client factory, ensuring all discussion topics are covered efficiently.
  • Be available to assist customers and colleagues outside of normal business hours as needed.
  • Travel approximately 40% internationally, primarily to Asia, to assist with customer visits and build activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of work experience in a technical setting.
  • Ability to understand complex mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience in designing thermal systems and components.
  • Experience performing multi-phase thermal simulations.
  • Strong root cause analysis, deductive reasoning, and FMEA skills related to thermal components and systems.
  • Experience with sheet metal, MIM, CNC, and plastics design and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control as it relates to part tolerances and assembly processes.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering part and assembly drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with MacOS is desired.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

  • Experience with advanced thermal technologies, materials, or processes.
  • Experience in product development of high-volume production products/components.
  • Knowledge of automated assembly processes.
  • Mandarin speaking and experience traveling in China.
  • Experience working with factories in China.
  • Enjoys working with people of diverse backgrounds and personalities.
