About the position

The Trading Applications Analyst role is focused on ensuring the smooth functioning of investment applications, particularly in trade flow and investment positions. This user-facing position involves supporting applications for various business areas, including Front Office, Middle Office, Risk, and Client Reporting, while managing daily IT needs and addressing a variety of support issues and tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize issue resolution based on business risk and develop solutions for urgent problems.
  • Create permanent solutions whenever possible and manage issues from notification to closure, providing regular updates and timescales.
  • Assess issues in person when possible and escalate any issue that could cause financial or reputational loss.
  • Use a structured approach to development tasks appropriate to their complexity and obtain management agreement on the structure.
  • Engage with Product and Project teams to ensure final delivery is acceptable and properly handed over.
  • Participate in testing for larger projects to validate results and meet timeframes.
  • Identify and champion improvements to processes and procedures, adhering to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience with Investment Order Management Systems (OMS).
  • Proven experience supporting Portfolio Management/bespoke investment applications.
  • Strong understanding of fixed income products, including bonds, derivatives, GIC, CFD, etc.
  • Good SQL skills with experience in creating or amending Stored Procedures.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, user-facing support role.
  • Knowledge of development languages (Python, VBA, C#) or BI tools (Tableau) is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CADIS and Control-M is advantageous.
