About the position

The Training and Development Content Creator will be responsible for developing engaging and effective learning materials for the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services. This role requires a strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design, as well as proficiency in multimedia content creation. The position plays a crucial role in ensuring that learners have the necessary resources to succeed in their roles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality, engaging training content in various formats such as eLearning modules, instructional videos, presentations, guides, workbooks, and infographics
  • Utilize best practices in instructional design to create effective training materials that align with learning objectives and business goals
  • Collaborate with Training & Development Specialists and subject matter experts (SMEs) to assess training needs and tailor content to meet specific learning requirements
  • Incorporate interactive elements, simulations, quizzes, and assessments to enhance learner engagement and knowledge retention
  • Regularly review and update training materials based on feedback, changing business needs, and industry trends
  • Upload and manage content in the companys LMS, ensuring materials are organized and accessible to all learners
  • Manage multiple content development projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and staying within budget
  • Stay current with the latest tools, technologies, and trends in training and development to bring fresh ideas and approaches to content creation

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Content Creator, Instructional Designer, or similar role within a training and development or L&D environment
  • Proficiency with content creation tools (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Articulate 360, Camtasia, Canva, etc.) and LMS platforms
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM)
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills to create compelling learning content
  • Familiarity with visual design principles and ability to create visually appealing training materials
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data-driven approaches to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs
