Educate Kansas - Kansas City, MO
posted about 1 month ago
We are currently seeking a versatile Transition/High School instructor with an interest in providing students with meaningful work experiences, job skills, and independent living skills to join our campus program. Kansas State School for the Blind (KSSB) offers three pathways for students 18-21: College and Technical Education; Project SEARCH; and our LIFE (Lifetime Independent-Focused Experience). Our LIFE program is for students who need additional support to access and develop skills that lead to increased independence and satisfaction as adults. These skills are developed both on campus and in the community. Some of KSSBs innovative, on-campus programs for our LIFE students include: Our Brailled Bean Coffee Business; the Coffee Cart Operation; the Makerspace Production Site; Housekeeping; and Cafeteria sites. These programs provide students with hands-on experience and real-world skills development and promote independence and self-sufficiency, which are critical for students with visual impairments.
