About the position

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing drivers at adult medical daycare programs, ensuring safe and efficient transportation services for seniors and adults with disabilities. This role includes supervising staff, training new employees, and maintaining compliance with safety protocols. The coordinator will also drive as needed and handle various administrative tasks related to transportation services.

Responsibilities

• Supervise location staff, including delegating tasks and monitoring performance.
• Train and drive all safety initiatives, including completing driver assessments.
• Process incident reports according to prescribed protocols.
• Handle multitasking effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Recruit, select, and train new employees.
• Facilitate vehicle maintenance according to the maintenance schedule.
• Communicate respectfully with clients' families regarding questions and concerns.
• Respond immediately to reports of accidents or safety concerns.

Requirements

• Valid Maryland driver's license with a clean driving history.
• Certification in first aid and CPR (must obtain if not already certified).
• Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and background check.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Experience in mobility/paratransit services is a plus.
