About the position
The CVR Recovery RN position is focused on providing specialized nursing care for patients recovering from open heart surgery. The role requires advanced clinical skills and certifications, as well as the ability to work night shifts and manage critical situations effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for patients recovering from open heart surgery.
- Administer special drips including Amiodrone, Primacor, Cardene, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Heparin, Cardizem, and Insulin.
- Monitor and manage patients with chest tubes, pacer wires, external pacemakers, central lines, and foleys.
- Conduct competency assessments including EKG exams and pharmacology competency tests.
- Participate in a call rotation every 3rd weekend and work holidays as required.
Requirements
- 4 years of nursing experience required.
- Minimum of 1 year of EPIC experience required.
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke required.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with advanced dysrhythmia testing.
- Familiarity with electronic fetal monitoring.
