The Superintendent serves as a vital member of the Frontline Operations Team at GeoStabilization International® (GSI), reporting directly to the General Superintendent. This keystone role is essential for driving the success of the organization, with a primary focus on ensuring safety, quality, delivery, production, costs, and training objectives. The Superintendent is expected to perform hands-on duties on the job site, making this a dynamic and engaging career opportunity with significant advancement potential. Heavy travel is a requirement for this role, as the position involves working extensively across various job sites, particularly in the Eastern United States. In this role, the Superintendent will be responsible for physically installing geohazard mitigation products according to job site drawings and standard operating procedures. Safety is paramount, and the Superintendent will oversee the safety of all crew members while planning and managing projects through a daily management process. Monitoring project performance is crucial, including tracking duration and cost variance from the budget. Compliance with documentation requirements such as daily logs, checklists, and as-built documentation is also a key responsibility. The Superintendent will manage crew member relations, which includes tracking performance reviews, development plans, coaching, and disciplinary actions. Coaching and mentoring technicians is an essential part of the role, as is adhering to the PISTOL process with a strong emphasis on pre-construction planning. Effective communication is vital, both in managing crew travel and in client-facing interactions. The Superintendent will also be accountable for the daily maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, ensuring adherence to quality and testing programs, and fostering good teamwork and communication among all functional groups involved in projects.
