Tutor - ACC 131/132

About the position

The Tutor for ACC 131/132 at Illinois State University is responsible for providing small-group tutoring sessions for lower-level courses, helping students transition successfully into university life and achieve their academic goals. This role involves tailoring assistance to meet individual student needs and may include additional tasks assigned by supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group tutoring for ACC 131/132 courses on a weekly basis.
• Tailor tutoring sessions to meet the individual needs of students.
• Assist students in understanding course material and improving their academic performance.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by graduate assistant supervisors and the Coordinator of Academic Support Services.

Requirements

• Overall GPA of at least 2.80.
• A grade of A or high B in the course(s) being tutored.
• Effective communication skills and a friendly demeanor.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in the subject area being tutored.
• Ability to convey knowledge clearly in both spoken and written forms.
• Priority consideration for candidates with a 3.00 GPA or higher.

Benefits

• Hourly pay rate of $14.00 per hour.
