About the position

This role performs a wide variety of technical procedures to ensure the proper care of the patients in accordance with the departmental and hospital policies and procedures. The Ultrasonographer may be responsible for assuming responsibilities of supervision or instruction to department personnel as determined by the Operations Manager or Lead Technologist.

Requirements

• One year of experience as an Ultrasonographer preferred.
• Must obtain registry from ARDMS or ARRT within 2 years of employment.
• Must have completed approved Diagnostic Sonography Technology Program.
• Registered Sonographer through ARRT or ARDMS required.
• CPR certification required.
• Must maintain Massachusetts Diagnostic Radiography License and Registration by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists.
• Proficient in Abdominal, Pelvic, and Obstetrical, DVT studies of arms and legs and obtaining images using portable equipment.
• Familiar with sterile technique and set up of sterile trays.
• Ability to function independently and proficiently.
• Must be able to move and lift patients, equipment, and supplies on a regular basis.
• Ability to function in a high stress, work intensive environment.
• Must be able to use independent judgment and ingenuity.
• Initiative to apply appropriate skills to facilitate a diagnosis.

Nice-to-haves

• Additional registration and state license as a diagnostic technologist preferred.
