About the position

St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a part time Ultrasound Technologist to join our team! This position provides comprehensive care to patients requiring ultrasonography services in an organized and systematic manner according to departmental policy and standards. The schedule for this role is every other Saturday and Sunday from 3 PM to 11:30 PM. The Ultrasound Technologist will follow appropriate departmental protocol for procedures unless specified differently by the Radiologist, obtain and document patient history and pertinent information, ensure proper identification of patients, and produce quality diagnostic images for interpretation. Additionally, the technologist will adhere to infection control standards specific to patient care, track patients to create charge and skill for reports, document procedures in charts, and log patients in the book. The role also involves demonstrating an understanding of safety, health, and morale needs of customers and co-workers, operating medical imaging equipment properly and safely, and demonstrating awareness of Radiation Safety procedures for self and others. The technologist will replenish and change supplies in the assigned area as needed, ensure equipment is in acceptable condition by conducting routine quality control, follow department standards for reporting malfunctions or problems, and follow ultrasound procedures for biopsies and other interventional procedures. Other duties may be assigned as needed, and all technologists are included in call and holiday rotations.

  • Follows department standards for reporting malfunctions or problems.
  • Follows ultrasound procedures for biopsies and other interventional procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • RDMS registered OR must pass exam within 12 months of date of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Technical School/2 Years College / Associate’s Degree.
