As an Umbrella & Excess Casualty Senior Underwriter at Zurich, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop your career as a member of a seasoned and dynamic team. This position is located in our Atlanta Office and offers a hybrid work schedule. You will be responsible for underwriting both new and renewal business under limited direction, utilizing The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework within delegated authority levels on highly complex accounts. Our focus is strongly on our customers, and we are seeking someone with the ability to develop exceptional relationships and a strong market-facing presence. In this role, you will proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities, completing detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth opportunities. You will qualify accounts to ensure they meet the organization’s appetite while balancing sound business opportunities. Making agent, broker, and customer on-site calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose will be essential. You will negotiate terms and conditions and close deals, cross-selling other lines of business to increase product density with the account. Participation in sales team meetings related to assigned brokers and/or territory is also expected. You will engage proactively in the target account process, managing a qualified list of opportunities 90 to 120 days prior to the effective date. Updating required systems with details of broker/client visits and account status within specified time frames is crucial. As the key contact for assigned target accounts, you will develop strong broker and client networks related to the industries underwritten by the business unit. Additionally, you will calculate target prices accurately by utilizing underwriting tools appropriately.
