This position requires a proactive approach to underwriting new, renewal, and increased credit facilities specifically tailored for automobile dealerships. In this role, the Underwriter will maintain loan relationships with a diverse range of customers by structuring and discussing the best loan plans suited to their needs. Monitoring the department's portfolio is essential, which includes keeping all financials up to date. The Underwriter will also be responsible for reviewing loan inquiries and responding to client requests, as well as writing detailed credit memos that outline the underwriting decisions made. The position demands a high level of expertise in financial analysis, structuring, underwriting, and portfolio management, with a minimum of 9-12 years of relevant experience. A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, or a related field is required. The Underwriter must possess hands-on experience with commercial auto dealership transactions and demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer service. Strong decision-making and analytical skills are necessary to evaluate information, assess risks, and weigh benefits effectively. Additionally, the Underwriter should have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and be detail-oriented, capable of preparing comprehensive findings reports, and managing multiple files simultaneously. Leadership qualities are also essential, as the Underwriter will be expected to mentor less experienced team members and embrace changes within the organization.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics or equivalent field.
  • 9-12 years of experience in financial analysis, structuring, underwriting, and portfolio management.
  • Commercial Auto underwriting experience.
  • Hands-on experience with underwriting of commercial auto dealership transactions.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service with prompt responses to customer needs.
  • Extensive decision-making and analytical skills to evaluate information and determine risks.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable with group presentations.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Detail-oriented with a categorical understanding of the lending process.
  • Ability to prepare findings reports and handle multiple files simultaneously.
  • Leadership skills to mentor less experienced team members and embrace change.
