About the position

The company helps clients maintain continuity in their business operations by utilizing state-of-the-art loss-prevention engineering and research, risk management skills and support services, tailored risk transfer capabilities, and superior financial strength. To achieve these goals, FM relies on a dynamic, culturally diverse group of employees working in over 100 countries across a variety of challenging roles. In this position, you will perform construction underwriting and insurance servicing activities on existing and prospective accounts with large projects in the renewable energy sector, specifically focusing on photovoltaic solar, onshore wind, and battery energy storage systems. Your responsibilities will include line setting, leading reinsurance needs and placement, rating and pricing, terms and conditions, value analysis, certificates of insurance, preparation of quotations, and assisting in proposal development. You will also provide underwriting assistance and mentorship to Account Managers handling smaller construction projects as needed. Additionally, you will offer construction underwriting expertise and guidance to the renewable energy team and the broader organization, recommending new or modified guidance when warranted. Collaboration with the Renewable Underwriting Manager and Staff Underwriting will be essential in developing and expanding renewable construction underwriting strategy, interpersonal development, and coaching. This ensures that mutually agreed project plans meet the long-term loss prevention, underwriting, and risk transfer goals of both the client and FM Global. Staying abreast of renewable energy and insurance market trends, as well as broader portfolio performance, will be crucial. This includes monitoring competitor offerings, strengths and weaknesses, profitability, and emerging trends. You will also be expected to learn and demonstrate internal systems, applications, procedures, and authority levels, while maintaining complete and up-to-date documentation of decision-making and key documents within internal systems as appropriate.
