About the position

The Unit Customer Service Representative for Specialty Surgery at Tampa General Hospital is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and clerical support within the surgical unit. This role serves as a communication resource for patients, visitors, and healthcare team members, ensuring effective triage of communication priorities and maintaining an organized unit environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform customer service, receptionist, and clerical activities under general supervision.
  • Serve as a communication resource for patients, visitors, family, and healthcare team members.
  • Answer telephone calls and manage the patient intercom system.
  • Alert nursing staff to patient and family concerns and other calls.
  • Order supplies and stock items as required.
  • Keep the unit neat and organized.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of customer service excellence.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
