Join us and find out for yourself. In this exciting and rewarding position, you will provide exceptional nursing care for our patients. You will offer guidance to team members by supervising nursing interventions and assigning related tasks. You will also assess patient, family and staff learning needs, deliver appropriate clinical education and promote effective working relationships. This involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of dedicated professionals to develop and implement a care plan, including providing detailed care instructions. The Unit Director is also responsible for the fiscal, human resources, clinical, materials management, and communication operations of the 6th Floor Telemetry unit.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional nursing care for patients.
  • Supervise nursing interventions and assign related tasks.
  • Assess patient, family, and staff learning needs.
  • Deliver appropriate clinical education.
  • Promote effective working relationships.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Provide detailed care instructions.
  • Manage fiscal, human resources, clinical, materials management, and communication operations of the unit.

Requirements

  • Current California RN license required.
  • MSN or BSN with a Master's degree in a related field required.
  • 5 years of acute care experience as an RN required.
  • Previous Med Surg/Tele experience as an RN required.
  • 3 years of leadership or management experience required.
  • BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
  • Skill in implementing appropriate nursing interventions on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to perform historical, physical and behavioral patient assessments.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans actively involving patients, family, and staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • Nursing Professional Leadership certification (i.e. ANCC or AONE) preferred.
