Our two campuses in Methuen and Haverhill feature a total of 320 beds and offer a full range of services, including comprehensive inpatient medical/surgical units, outpatient care, and 24/7 emergency services. We also have specialized behavioral health units, cardiac telemetry, and critical care service lines. The Haverhill campus is equipped with all private rooms, while the Methuen campus boasts a state-of-the-art catheterization suite and a Joint Center of Excellence recognized by Blue Cross Blue Shield for knee and hip replacement. As a Unit Secretary, you will work per diem evening shifts from 3 PM to 11 PM, performing a variety of essential computer, clerical, and supply functions necessary for the smooth operation of the unit. Your role will involve managing both written and verbal communications between unit personnel, physicians, ancillary services, patients, visitors, and families. You will act as a vital liaison, ensuring effective communication and coordination within the hospital environment. In addition to clerical duties, you will provide direct patient care as part of a collaborative team, contributing to the overall well-being of our patients. This position requires flexibility and the ability to perform various related duties as assigned, reflecting the dynamic nature of healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a liaison between patient, hospital personnel, visitors, and ancillary departments.
  • Performs all clerical functions within the department.
  • Provides direct patient care as a member of a collaborative team.
  • Performs indirect patient care functions on the unit as a member of a collaborative team.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous two years' experience as a unit technician or related duties preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
