The Unit Secretary is responsible for transcribing medical orders, ordering and maintaining equipment and supplies, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is accurate and up-to-date. This role is vital in supporting the nursing staff and enhancing the overall patient care experience. Responsibilities

• Coordinate selected patient activities between the nursing unit and other internal departments.
• Maintain and organize patient medical records and nursing unit activity files.
• Transcribe medical orders accurately.
• Order and maintain equipment and supplies for the nursing unit.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• 1-2 years of previous secretarial/clerical experience required.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• PC skills and knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while balancing multiple priorities.
