The Unit Secretary is a vital role within the healthcare team, responsible for providing essential clerical support to ensure the smooth operation of the unit. This position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to enhance communication and deliver quality patient care. The Unit Secretary will manage various administrative tasks, including maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, and facilitating communication between healthcare providers and patients. The role is crucial in creating an organized and efficient environment that supports the overall mission of the healthcare facility. In addition to clerical duties, the Unit Secretary will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology, which is essential for effective communication within the healthcare setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is necessary to perform daily tasks efficiently. The Unit Secretary will work closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure that all patient-related information is accurately documented and readily accessible. The position operates on a fixed schedule, with working hours from 07:00 to 15:30, totaling 32 hours per week. This role is classified as hourly and is exempt from overtime under the level of Manager. The pay range for this position is competitive, reflecting the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent - Preferred
  • 1 year of experience in Clerical and/or Healthcare or related education/training in Healthcare - Required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology through experience or completion of a course - Preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
