About the position

The Universal Banker in Hattiesburg, Mississippi is responsible for acquiring, managing, and retaining meaningful relationships with clients through a consultative sales and service approach. This role focuses on proactively fulfilling clients' financial needs by providing tailored product solutions and educating them on various banking services and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage existing clients and prospects by meeting with them in person and over the phone to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Discover financial needs and tailor product solutions to meet clients' overall financial needs.
  • Educate clients on alternate delivery methods and channels, including self-service options and emerging technology.
  • Refer clients to other business partners for specialized financial needs.
  • Apply product and procedural knowledge to solve client problems efficiently.
  • Process a variety of routine and complex transactions for Financial Center clients, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
  • Engage in client and/or prospect management activities and drive proactive sales conversations.
  • Identify and act upon sales opportunities to build a strong pipeline of appointments to meet assigned sales goals.
  • Leverage ecosystem partnerships and community centers of influence to acquire, expand, and retain relationships.
  • Manage lobby traffic by actively engaging, greeting, and directing clients.
  • Support the Bank's risk management culture through awareness and sound decision-making.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-year sales and client service experience in a professional environment; prior banking experience highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to form and expand client relationships.
  • Ability to learn and navigate multiple banking systems and applications.
  • Must meet National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration requirements under the SAFE Act of 2008.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in cash handling and customer service in retail or financial institutions.
