About the position
The UNIX Systems Engineer/Pre/Post-Sales position is a critical role within a growing UNIX Server Company, focusing on both technical consulting and customer engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for serving as a technical consultant during the pre-sales and post-sales phases, ensuring that clients receive the highest level of service and support. This includes installing, configuring, enhancing, and tuning Solaris UNIX Systems and corporate servers to meet specific customer needs. The role requires a deep understanding of UNIX systems, particularly Solaris, and the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. In addition to technical responsibilities, the UNIX Systems Engineer will handle presentations and answer questions regarding UNIX Server Products. This involves analyzing customer environments to provide tailored solutions that enhance their operations. The position demands a proactive approach to customer service, with a focus on building strong relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales process. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills, enabling them to effectively bridge the gap between technology and customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical pre-sales consultant, assisting customers in understanding UNIX Server Products.
- Install, configure, enhance, and tune Solaris UNIX Systems and corporate servers.
- Conduct presentations to showcase UNIX Server capabilities and answer customer inquiries.
- Analyze customer environments to provide tailored solutions and recommendations.
- Support post-sales activities to ensure customer satisfaction and successful implementation of UNIX systems.
Requirements
- 3 years of UNIX Systems Engineering/Administration experience.
- Strong Solaris/Sun OS experience.
- Excellent pre and post-sales abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with Windows NT is a plus.

- Experience with additional UNIX variants or systems administration tools.
