About the position

The position involves a multifaceted role that encompasses data and digital literacy, environmental protection, operational excellence, partnership and collaboration, employee health and safety, asset protection and security, EHS training delivery, risk management, process improvement, influential communication, transportation operations, and customer/member-centered service. The individual will be responsible for ensuring data quality, implementing technology changes, and supporting environmental compliance and operational processes. This role requires a deep understanding of various regulations and policies, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and manage projects efficiently. In the realm of data and digital literacy, the candidate must articulate the levers that influence data and ensure the quality of data collected. They will be tasked with organizing processes for analysis and developing technology changes across multiple processes within their assigned area of work. The environmental protection aspect of the role requires knowledge of environmental policies and the ability to operate tools for evaluating pollution, support regulatory visits, and assist in integrating environmental considerations into process design. Operational excellence is another key component, where the individual will explain operational functions, clarify departmental roles, and identify primary operational functions within the organization. The role also emphasizes partnership and collaboration, requiring the candidate to own project activities, support process updates, and demonstrate functional knowledge of the business unit. Employee health and safety responsibilities include participating in OSHA inspections, maintaining health and safety records, and monitoring facilities for safety hazards. The asset protection and security aspect involves recognizing security breaches and assisting in the implementation of access control procedures. The candidate will also support EHS training delivery, manage risk assessments, and lead process improvement initiatives. The position requires a strong focus on customer/member service, using appropriate judgment to make informed decisions, and managing execution and results effectively. The candidate will be expected to promote ideas, build relationships, and ensure compliance with ethical standards. Adaptability and talent supervision are also crucial, as the individual will provide feedback, assign tasks, and support the development of associates.

Responsibilities

  • Articulates the levers that influence data and ensures data quality.
  • Organizes processes for analysis and develops technology changes across multiple processes.
  • Operates tools for evaluating air, water, and waste pollution and supports regulatory visits.
  • Prepares audit reports for management review and participates in evaluating pollution control.
  • Assists in integrating environmental considerations into process design and interprets compliance status reports.
  • Explains operational functions and clarifies the role of each department in relation to enterprise strategy.
  • Owns the delivery of project activity and supports process updates and changes.
  • Participates in OSHA and other regulatory inspections and maintains health and safety records.
  • Works with tools for theft prevention and investigates security breaches and thefts.
  • Supports the activities of instructors in training programs and manages feedback solicitation from training participants.
  • Produces and interprets common risk assessment and management reports and conducts risk assessments.
  • Defines critical workflows for executing key processes and implements methods for process improvement.
  • Promotes ideas and builds trusting relationships with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety Management, Criminal Justice, Security, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 2 years' experience in Environmental, Health and Safety or Asset Protection, Security within Supply Chain or Retail.
  • Ability to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 or More Degreed Certifications (Associate Safety Professional; Loss Prevention Certifications (LPC), Certified Security Professional (CSP)).
  • 2 or more years of investigative experience or asset protection experience in retail or warehouse.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; SharePoint and OneDrive.
