About the position

As a Coach/Ops Manager Trainee at Walmart, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing teams effectively. Your responsibilities will include teaching, training, and actively listening to associates while touring stores and providing constructive feedback through a method known as Tour-to-Teach. You will be expected to communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Additionally, you will introduce and lead company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions while effectively communicating business objectives to your teams. In this role, you will model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates by adhering to the One Best Way (OBW) service model. You will manage and support customer service initiatives, ensuring that customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved. Your leadership will extend to developing and implementing action plans to correct deficiencies and providing process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience. You will also drive the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating Profit & Loss (P&L) statements. This includes managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses to ensure they are indexed to sales. You will monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes, developing and implementing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals. Your supervisory role will involve providing development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, and mentoring. You will set clear expectations, provide recognition, and ensure diversity and inclusion awareness while recruiting and developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential. You will coordinate and oversee job-related activities by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, and demonstrating adaptability while promoting continuous learning. Compliance with company policies and procedures is crucial, and you will support the company’s mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and providing direction on applying these in executing business processes and practices.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 2 years of college; OR 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year's supervisory experience.
  • Successful completion of firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training may be required for facilities that sell firearms.
  • Associates must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments.
