The candidate will be expected to possess a comprehensive understanding of data collection modes, analytics, visualization tools, and technology innovation trends. They will identify problems, leverage data to determine root causes, and apply information to find solutions. The role requires participation in the feedback loop between data intake and insights, ensuring data quality, and organizing processed information for analysis. The candidate will also leverage visualization techniques to create dashboards for stakeholders and leadership, and propose ways to automate or improve existing processes using technology such as RPA, AI, and machine learning. In terms of business acumen, the candidate will provide recommendations to business stakeholders to solve complex issues, develop business cases for projects, and translate business requirements into actionable tasks aligned with the overall business strategy. They will also support regulatory visits, prepare audit reports, and assist in integrating environmental considerations into process design, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation. The role also emphasizes operational excellence, requiring the candidate to explain operational functions, clarify departmental roles, and identify primary operational functions of the organization. They will work with asset protection policies, conduct investigations, and assist in implementing access control procedures. The candidate will engage with stakeholders, analyze their needs, and communicate effectively to build credibility and trust. Additionally, the position requires knowledge of OSHA guidelines and the ability to coordinate with emergency responders, evaluate facility environments against health and safety guidelines, and design emergency evacuation plans. The candidate will also focus on process improvement, defining critical workflows, identifying process problems, and coaching team members in process improvement skills. They will participate in delivering training content, manage risk assessment processes, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Overall, this role is integral to supporting the company's mission and values while promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies problems and leverages data to determine root causes and apply information to find solutions.
  • Participates in the feedback loop between data intake and insights to improve the data-collection process.
  • Articulates the levers that influence data and ensures data quality.
  • Organizes processed information for analysis and leverages visualization techniques to create dashboards for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Identifies and proposes ways to automate/improve existing processes using technology such as RPA, AI, and machine learning.
  • Documents business requirements for new technology solutions and develops, tests, and integrates prototypes to support technology-enabled solutions.
  • Develops and implements technology changes across multiple processes within the assigned area of work.
  • Provides recommendations to business stakeholders to solve complex business issues.
  • Develops business cases for projects with projected returns on investment or cost savings.
  • Supports regulatory visits and prepares audit reports for management review.
  • Assists in integrating environmental considerations into process design and interprets compliance status reports.
  • Explains operational functions and key functional roles of assigned department or unit.
  • Conducts investigations and recognizes security breaches, thefts, shortages, and vandalism.
  • Engages with team members and establishes credibility with stakeholders.
  • Organizes thoughts and communicates credibly and concisely in an interdivisional setup.
  • Coordinates directly with emergency responders in the event of an emergency and evaluates facility environments against OSHA guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety Management, Environmental Science, or related field AND 2 years' experience in Environmental, Health and Safety within Supply Chain, Retail, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • 4 years' experience in Environmental, Health and Safety within Supply Chain, Retail, Manufacturing, or related field if no degree is held.
  • 2 years' experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma within Supply Chain or manufacturing environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 or More Degreed Certifications (e.g., Associate Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional) or Non-degreed certifications (e.g., Safety Management Specialist).
