About the position

Terumo Medical Corporation (TMC) is seeking a Utility I for the 2nd shift at our Elkton, MD facility. This entry-level position is designed to be flexible and is utilized across various departments within the TMC Elkton manufacturing site. The Utility I role is critical as it serves as the foundational step in the hierarchy of hourly manufacturing positions. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a strong attention to detail and adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs), and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs), all of which are essential for ensuring patient safety and operational success. In this role, the associate will be responsible for following the requirements of applicable national and international regulations, closely adhering to all safety protocols. The operations performed by a Utility I include a variety of tasks such as cutting and washing, rodding and de-rodding, sheath tip forming and inspection, dilator tip forming, silicon application, hand assembly, inflate/deflate (leak testing), RF welding (PVC welding), tube or valve bonding (gluing), and curvature insertion. Maintaining a clean work area and adhering to Good Manufacturing and Good Documentation Practices is paramount. Additionally, the associate will participate in project performance team meetings on behalf of their job unit, contributing ideas, methods, or processes aimed at improving unit and company performance. The role also requires compliance with TMC's Quality System, which includes process controls, inspection procedures, document/data control, and change control practices. Other job-related duties may be assigned as necessary.
